Course Objectives

On completion of this unit, learners will have the knowledge and application skills in preparing work activities for collecting and sorting waste, identifying waste and hazards during waste collection and sorting process and reinstating work area on completion of work activities

Who Should Attend

Operations staff who are in the waste management and recycling industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  1. Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the ES Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 2.
  2. Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 2.
  3. Be able to use numeracy skills equivalent to the ES Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 2.

** To be eligible for the various fundings, the company has to update the company’s profile on Thereafter, the company can apply for the various grants.

** Upon registration of the course and recceipt of the invoice from WMRAS, submit your grants (training and absentee payroll) within 30 days before the course start date and no later than 30 days after course start date.

Appeal & Reassessment

The Statement of Attainment (SOA) will not be issued to trainee who has been assessed as “Not Yet Competent”. Trainee who wish to undergo another assessment for a `Competent’ result will need to undergo training and assessment for the whole module again.

Where there are reasons to appeal against the assessor’s decision, an appeal may be submitted in writing to WMRAS within 5 working days from the assessment date stating clearly the ground(s) for appeal. If the appeal is successful, a fresh round of assessment will be conducted at a fee of $100. If the appeal is unsuccessful, the trainee will have to undergo the training and assessment again.
