Hazardous waste can be broadly be defined to be waste that has substantial or potential threats to public health or the environment. The management of hazardous waste is an intricate issue. Like all waste management activities during the pandemic, hazardous waste treatment operations must be maintained during and despite any pandemic.
This webinar was organised by ISWA, WMAM and WMRAS, addressing the Plastic Waste challenges in Asia. The Covid-19 crisis spurred a rapid expansion in the production of plastic products that were easily available and easily discarded. Aside from plastics in hospitals, the production of other plastic materials were also in high demand, such as plastic gloves, masks and food packaging for households. The production of these materials were necessary, but where do they end up?
