Early 2020, the earth was hit by an invisible force that halted all economies worldwide. However, during the pandemic, a surging market for plastics emerged. Surgical masks, gloves and other PPE materials were on high demand. The Covid-19 crises spurred a rapid expansion in the production of plastic products that were easily available and easily discarded. Aside from plastics in hospitals, the production of other plastic materials were also in high demand, such as plastic gloves, masks and food packaging for households. The production of these materials were necessary, but where do they end up?
