About this course

This course is designed to equip prospective Zero Waste Managers with the skills to: (i) plan, implement, and monitor 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) efforts to improve waste management outcomes in their premises, (ii) educate stakeholders on 3R and integrate the 3R into organisational culture, and (iii) comply with regulatory requirements on waste management such as Mandatory Waste Reporting (MWR) requirements.

 

What you’ll learn

Through attending the course, trainees will be able to gain a deeper understanding of waste management policies and regulations, and be equipped with skills to improve waste management outcomes.

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • LO1: Describe waste issues, waste management policies and regulations
  • LO2: Identify General Waste Collectors and types of waste
  • LO3: Acquire an understanding of 3R to plan and implement a 3R programme
  • LO4: Acquire an understanding of Mandatory Waste Reporting and its requirements
  • LO5. Apply understanding of 3R to plan and implement a 3R programme
  • LO6: Communicate effectively with all stakeholders

Minimum entry requirement

  • (1) Middle managers and/or supervisors holding full-time or concurrent roles in waste management and recycling within their own and/or their clients’ premises
  • (2) Could be performing other functions (for example, facilities, property management, operations, sustainability and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), etc.)
  • (3) Should possess a basic understanding of waste management and recycling
  • (4) Appointed or to-be-appointed Zero Waste Managers
